Tonight, we get to experience a Sweden Premiere as we introduce the international jazz sensation Sharón Clark (Washington, D.C.) who teams up with Swedish pianist Mattias Nilsson and his trio. Sharón is visiting Sweden for the first time but has done several tours in Europe in recent years, with periodic visits to Russia, where she now is called the "Queen of the Jazz Singers". The record "Do It Again: My Tribute to Shirley Horn" which was released in 2008, is now on its thrid printing and she grabs top honors wherever she goes and the JazzTimes calls her "a revelation"!

The Swedish Mattias Nilsson possesses ”an enormous degree of energy and musical flexibility, as well as a very personal and appealing melodic sense…” (Skånska Dagbladet). He is also fully capable of spellbinding an audience simply by swinging like mad while paying respect to the timeless traditions of jazz piano that he has absorbed. In 2013 Mattias received the prestigious Swedish Harry Arnold Scholarship and later that year he performed solo at the 23nd Akbank Jazz Festival in Instanbul which marked the beginning of his solo career at the international scene....
